Description
This is a very nice stereo 180g pressing of Byron Janis playing Rachmaninoff’s first piano concerto and Richard Strauss’s Burleske with Fritz Reiner conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as issued by Classic Records (catalog number LSC-2127). The record is from my personal collection, was purchased new, and initially cleaned on a VPI record vacuum and treated with Last Record preservative. It was recently re-cleaned with an Audio Desk Ultra-sonic record cleaner.
The record was recently play-graded using a Lyra Parnassus cartridge on a VPI Classic IV turntable with 3D tonearm.
The record condition is as follows: side 1 is mint- with no scuffs or scratches and plays with 5 light ticks; side 2 has a diagonal hairline scratch over the side and 2 small marks in the vinyl. The hairline scratch does not appear to sound but the two marks result in approximately 5 light ticks. There were an additional 7 ticks noted on the second side.
The jacket is in mint- condition with no seam splits or bends. It is the glossy cover type used by Classic Records for most of their 180g classical releases.
