RCA LSC 2449, Gounod - Faust Ballet Music, Bizet - Carmen Suite, Royal Opera House Orchestra, Covent Garden, Alexander Gibson, Conductor - This is the Classic Records reissue – it is NOT the original RCA pressing. It is one of the best and rarest of all the RCA living stereo LPs. Recorded in England in 1960, it has a wide and deep sound-stage with huge dynamics. This Classic reissue is currently on the TAS Super Disk List, and the sound is spectacular with wonderful ambiance, astounding imaging, and very powerful and dynamic bass. This copy is virtually perfect – I purchased it new myself when is was released, and I have played it only a few times. The vinyl surfaces are clean, glossy, and exceptionally quiet with NO pops, clicks, tics, or skips - it is very quiet, with NO marks at all. The vinyl looks and plays mint (M). The labels also look new as does the jacket (see photos). In summary, this is a NM copy of this wonderful audiophile analogue reissue.
