Description

Clayton Watson and The Silhouettes 45 "Everybody Boppin' B/W " Tall Skinny Annie" on Lavender #2454. This 45 is from the basement of a booking agent who booked Clayton back in the 50's. The condition is like new, appears unplayed. Both sides of label are mint. This incredible 2 sided Rocker was written and recorded by Clayton while still a senior in highschool in Centralia Wa. Clayton plays drums and sings on both cuts. Recorded at Northwest Recording in Portland Or., Clayton and his school chum George Bright paid for 300 copies to be pressed. Clayton picked the name Lavender because it was Elvis's favorite color and the color of his Cadillac. (OK so it was Pink....). Later in 1959 George sold the label for $1 to the booking agent who pressed up 500 more copies, as he was booking Clay as a backing act for artists such as Gene Vincent , Buddy Knox, Bobby Darin, Jerry Lee Lewis and many others.... Clayton had only 1 other record recorded in 1959 as "Lord Dent and The Invaders".

You can hear a sample of the Lavender 45 at  pnwbands.com/silhouettes.html

This was the 1st and finest NW Rockabilly record ever made. Both sides are screamin' rockers with a bop that just don't stop! As an added bonus you will get an unused 1/2 price admission pass from one of Clayton shows in the 50's.
