Offered here is a very nice original copy of Clear Light on Elektra Records (EKS-74011), still in the original shrink wrap. This sought-after 1967 psychedelic rock LP features clean EX vinyl, an EX cover, and sharp original sleeves, making it a strong collector and listening copy.
About the Release
Released in 1967, Clear Light was the only album by the Los Angeles psychedelic band Clear Light and has become a cult favorite of the late-1960s underground scene. Produced by Paul A. Rothchild and engineered by Bruce Botnick, the album blends psychedelic rock, garage influences, and baroque pop touches into a unique and highly regarded period piece. Though the band’s run was brief, the album remains one of the more interesting and collectible Elektra releases from the era.
For collectors, original Elektra EKS-74011 pressings are especially appealing because of their late-1960s gold/tan label presentation, original packaging, and early matrix details. Copies that still retain the original shrink wrap are even more desirable, since the shrink helps preserve the jacket and adds to the display value. Clean originals with sharp sleeves and matching runout information are increasingly difficult to find in this condition.
