No one else could take the sin and darkness from me (and from anyone who will put their trust in Christ) . . . Oh, how much He cared for me!” The songs recorded in this album are those which are favorites of Chris- tian people everywhere. They tell of "Precious Memories’ and that ‘7i Is No Secret What God Can Do;” they ask for "Just a Closer Walk With Thee;” and many other messages are carried through other well loved gospel songs. Many of these songs may have carried the message that helped convict some of you of sin when you accepted Christ, while others hold these songs dear for many different reasons. We have tried to select your favorites . . . gospel songs that carry a real message. It would be my earnest prayer and hope that some lost souls might hear the message contained in these songs and find Jesus as Lord and Saviour of their lives. On side one of this album, I accompany myself on the piano as I sing, with the background music provided by Mrs. Donna Miller of Greensboro, N. C. On side two, Mr. Jack Clark plays the piano and Mrs. Miller the organ. My sincere appreciation to these fine Christian musicians for their assisting me in this endeavor and to the one person who has made this possible. BUDDY BURTON Buddy Burton is a native of Clearwater, Florida, where his father, Dr. O. E. Burton is pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church. Buddy is a graduate of Campbell College, Buies Creek. N. C., and of Southwestern Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. He has been Music Director in five Southern Baptist Churches and has had many opportunities to lead the music in re- vivals with such men as Dr. Angel Martinez, Dr. J. Harold Smith, Dr. J. P. McBeth, Major W. Ian Thomas, Dr. O. E. Burton, Leon Kilbreth, Jimmy Johnson, and many others. Buddy is call- ed of God and completely dedicated to the field of evangelistic music. He loves ever}' area of the work — leading the choir and congregational singing, solo work, and most of all having some part in bringing Christians to a closer walk with God and sinners to a saving knowledge of Christ. . . this young man has worked with me. His music is inspiring and of the highest qual- ity. He is congenial and cooperative.
