Description

This is part of a big auction full of 1950's blues and R&B 45's that I'm running this week.  There are many rarities from Peacock & Savoy as well as several from smaller labels.  Lots of gems here! Keep an eye on the store as well, I'm doing a jazz 45's auction starting in early February.

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1957

Notes: Original 1st pressing on Cobra Records, which has maybe the best logo of any 1950's label. Second of just a few singles released by this obscure Cleveland bluesman. The A-side is a bouncy, jump blues kind of a number with a heavy dose of piano.  The B-side is a little more of a groover which great piano work once again.


Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl itself is in nice shape with just some light scuffing in spots along the edges on both sides (maybe a pressing defect?). The scuffs don't affect play this one plays great with nice sound. No ticks/pops/skips and hardly any background noise at all. The labels are super-clean as well with no tears/stickers/writing, there is some light ring scuffing on one side.  Nice copy overall, I would say it just squeaks into VG+.
