Description
Here it is ladies and gentlemen the holy grail of Cock Sparrer records. This is the original promo pressing of the first self titled album on Decca records.
The story goes Cock Sparrer was on Decca after punk rock began it's popularity in the 70's and they recorded this album. Things went south and Cock Sparrer told the label not to release the album but Decca had already pressed a small quantity of the album. I do not know how many were made but it was a very slim amount. This is the first and only PROMO version I have ever seen of this album. It has the white promo labels on the record as I have put the picture to look at. It has been rereleased as True Grit later on by Razor records but this is where it all started.
The sleeve is in good shape with minor ring wear and a small inch and a half strip of a manilla colored sticker near the spine. There is a small crease on the lower left corner but it is not that noticeable. Overall for being over 30 years old the sleeve is in good shape. The vinyl is nearly flawless and plays beautifully. You are unlikely to ever see this record again as a promo, let alone in this good of shape. One of the truely classic and rarist Oi albums you will ever find. Winner pays 5.00 in the US. Insurance, etc is extra.
