Coleman Hawkins / Clark Terry Back In Bean's Bag LP UK STEREO 1st Issue [Ex/Ex-]

Description

Would have sold in tiny numbers in <STEREO> in 1963. Matrix 1/1 - the 1st cut. Note the labels are the early large "33" style and textured. But what marks this stereo copy as a 1st from late 1963 is that it is a Phillips pressing. It is NOT CBS. And CBS did not have plant in the UK until 1964. Phillips pressings are really heavy and have certain credentials in the deadwax "V420" etc. The vinyl comes housed in an original <STEREO> 1st issue cover with exposed flipbacks. 
Vinyl (Vg+/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals either a VERYGOOD+ or NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of minor deviations per side. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Not clean enough to hit the top grades - but a very decent performer for large parts. Expect a touch of background in the odd spot per side. Nothing invasive - just slightly cleaner in some parts than others.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape with a nice and clean white front with precious little creasing. The rear seems to have avoided the usual ageing process - just a bit of evidence at the opening. There's a number written in the top right corner. Edge wear is pretty minor and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
