Description
This is a CLASSIC letter on a record from my Dad to my Grandmother! Circa 1944 or 1945. The postmark (Denver, CO) does not have a date on it but I have another record that does and it is postmarked 1945. This is from World War Two (II) when my Dad served his country.
It from American Safety Razor Corp. in Brooklyn, NY. The front cover says "GEM BLADES Bring You The Voice Of..." There is a cancelled 1 1/2 - cent U.S. Postal stamp on it. The back cover says "BUY WAR BONDS AND STAMPS". Also says "YOU HELP AMERICA, YOU HELP YOURSELF".
The record itself is in mint condition. It says "BUY BONDS BUY STAMPS" on the edge. Also, "Voices of Victory" in the center. Pictures of servicemen from all divisions, a nurse, a businessman, and a housewife are on the face of the record. The reverse side has actual pictures from that era.
