 Hello fellow record collectors,

I'm selling off most of my record collection and I'll be listing all my metal, stoner and doom stuff first, some alternative, and then all my classic rock of various sorts, so keep an eye on my listings if you're interested. Here is a near mint copy of Colour Haze - Colour Haze LP on the always wicked Elektrohasch label. The vinyl and cover look as good as the day I bought them brand new. Here is a premaster album review:

People were raving about Colour Haze last year. For whatever reason, I never paid attention. After hearing the pre-master for their forthcoming self titled album, I can say that was one of the dumber things I’ve done. Shame on me.

A des c r i p tion wouldn’t do too much justice – it’s Kyuss meets Monster Magnet meets Jimi Hendrix with more than a touch of jazz, all with heavy, acid-drenched psychedelic playing. If you had to write out a list of bands that fit that des c r i p tion, you’d probably go through a gallon of ink, a tree’s worth of paper, and wind up with a weird Popeye forearm. There’s been such a flood of bands that sound like “Kyuss meets Monster Magnet” that it’s become more of a deterrent than a benefit.

So what makes Colour Haze all that great? Well, like cooking, it’s all how you use the ingredients. Colour Haze have the right amounts, and everything’s perfectly blended. The songs are sprawling near-epics that cover a lot of territory within their respective time limits. And like all good jam-based bands, they can meander without being self indulgent, all the while keeping things interesting.

The pre-master copy I received is missing the last song, so final judgment’s going to be withheld until I hear the whole deal. All the same, “Mountain” is going to have to be a hell of a track to overshadow “Peace, Brothers and Sisters!” and “Flowers” (which apparently will have new vocals on the release).

And until the album’s officially released, I’m going to have to get acquainted with their back catalogue. Because if their previous material is as good as this, then they’re worth all the hype I blithely ignored.

I will package this in a sturdy cardboard record mailer. I will ship Regular Parcel Post through Canada Post. Shipping will cost $12.00 to Manitoba and east and $10.00 to Saskatchewan and west and all of the US. This will include $100 of insurance. International buyers should ask me the shipping cost on an individual basis and I will find out the cost. Most destinations seem to be around the $16 to $18 mark, also with $100 of coverage for small packet international air, but you should still check with me first. If you want a tracking # and a required signature it will cost more. Let me know how you want it mailed and I will find out the cost.
