Description
BLUES/JAZZ - Bessie Smith accompanied by her Band - Louis Armstrong cnt, Charlie Green Tbn and Fletcher Henderson piano on "Careless Love"; and just piano by Fred Longshaw on "He's Gone". Recorded 26 May 1925 and 23 June 1925 in New York. "Careless Love" is quite upbeat and jazzy with masterful accompaniment while "He's Gone" is a classic blues with simple blues accompaniment. Visually the record is about VG to VG+ with good gloss. Playback is good, loud and clear with minimal distortion and quiet surfaces with mainly minimal background noise. There is a sounding scratch on "Careless" which is not too intrusive for about 15 seconds. I would rate playback as about VG+ for "He's Gone" and about VG+ to E- (except for scratch). On both sides noise increases somewhat for about the last 20 seconds but not overly intrusive. Quite a rare record and is very collectable in decent played condition.
