If you like really old disc records, especially Columbia black and silver labels, I've got something of a oddity here. Pictured are 4 Columbia disc recordings of the "William Tell Overture". Odd in the fact that all four records are included. All four of these are announced and all are by the Columbia band. I saw no chips, cracks, gouges or other horrors that afflict old records. A couple have ever so slight warping that in no way affects the sound and is only noticed when the disc is playing. I played them all and they sounded pretty darn good considering their age and composition. Surface noise was minimal, and that's on an electric cheapie phono. With a proper acoustic reproducer I would venture to say that they would be excellent, all things considered. The set includes record number 1157 Overture to "William Tell" part no. 1, record number 1149 Overture to "William Tell" part no. 2, The Storm, record number 1129 Overture to "William Tell" part no. 3, The Calm, and record number 89 Overture to "William Tell" part no. 4, Finale. While not quite perfect, this is a good set and I would imagine very hard to assemble individually. In spite of what it says in the next paragraph, these will be insured. Please do not pay for them until you get an invoice from me with the Delivery Confirmation dropped and insurance added (at cost) in its place. Hope these can fit that niche in your record library. A word about my lack of feedback. I've been a member of eBay for almost 12 years. However, I haven't sold anything in the last couple. In that time, eBay revised their feedback policy to, in my mind, the detriment of both buyers and sellers. I for one no longer believe that a buyers feedback can be counted on as sellers can only leave positive feedback. Sellers too are at a disadvantage since buyer feedback can be used to hold them "hostage". I worked long and hard to maintain a perfect feedback record over the years and I have no interest in seeing it being artificially altered. If you go back a couple of years you will see lots of very happy buyers I've dealt with.
Also, used to be I always charged actual shipping costs only. There was never a "packing" or "handling" fee. However, with the creation of eBay Buyer Protection (which I thing is a good thing) sellers have had to take some actions to protect themselves. To that end, I will be adding the cost of "Delivery Confirmation" to any sale shipped via U.S.P.S. This protects me if a shipment is uninsured and allows the buyer to track the shipment if they so wish. Lastly, some shipments that are very fragile will have mandatory insurance added, at actual cost. Thanks for your understanding.
