MEET HIM IN THE SKY (Leon Hyatt) One Saturday afternoon Doris was playing the piano, as she did most of the time, and singing a favorite hymn. Eunice began singing harmony. A short time later Avis was called in to sing the lead and Doris sang a third part. That was the beginning. After some practice the girls began singing at their home church and on the radio. Then they appeared at many singing conventions in and around Columbia. After several years, Doris got married and moved to Texas. That was the end of the singing until ten years later when she and her family moved back to Columbia. The sisters began singing again at their homes. Then once again they sang at churches, conventions, and on the radio. When the opportunity came along to make this, their first album, the sisters readily agreed, in order that more people might hear about Jesus and prepare their hearts. There is nothing the Hyatt Sisters love better than singing about the goodness of God. “What A Friend Is He,” the title song of the album was written by Doris and “Meet Him In The Sky,” was written by their father, Leon Hyatt, the producer of this album.
