Collectors, here is an EXTRAORDINARY and historic 11 record 12 inch Columbia Blue Seal Viva-Tonal Masterworks Set No. 79; Wagner Bayreuth Festival Recordings, recorded in Wagner's original theatre in Bayreuth, sung by European opera stars with the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra. Wagner's son Siegfried actually conducts some of the performances! Per my 1929 Columbia Records catalog (sorry, not included), the records are in a leather album and sold for the super high price of $16.50. Granted, 1929 is not the Depression (pretty close), but that was a LOT of money for records. I imagine a scattering of die hard Wagner buffs would be interested in this, probably not many other people at the time.
As you can see, the album itself has some wear and the side panel is long gone. I show pictures of one of the records. They are all shiny and like new, play perfectly with a lot of volume. I have all 11 records, nothing missing, nothing broken, nothing abused. Here we are, 92 years after issuance. I doubt many were sold way back when, how many are still around and in great shape? Super rare, good luck finding another set of records like these. If this interests you, do not pass this opportunity up! Reasonable buy it now price given what I have here, go for it!!
