For auction is a NEAR MINT original 1956 vinyl LP pressing of the soundtrack to the classic 1939 MGM musical starring the legendary Judy Garland. This first edition was issued on MGM RECORDS to coincide with the CBS television premiere.
This beautiful album contains the memorable songs OVER THE RAINBOW / IF I ONLY HAD A BRAIN / IF I ONLY HAD A HEART / IF I WERE KING OF THE FOREST / DING DONG, THE WITCH IS DEAD / THE MERRY OLD LAND OF OZ

VINYL HAS BEEN PLAY-TESTED TO ENSURE QUALITY LISTENING. Vinyl is VG+ condition. Shiny vinyl with beautiful mono dynamics throughout. Light surface noise present during some quiet passages but not intrusive by any means! Recorded directly from the soundtrack of the film. The album is truly a "book-on-tape" of the movie.
COVER IN VG+ CONDITION - Solid spine and crisp graphics on front and back cover. Some light aging on back cover and mild shelf wear on the otherwise striking, yellow background of the front cover. Contains the notable "Dorothy and the gang" art used in the first-run advertising campaign for the film. See photos for details.
