Description
This is a 12-inch mono LP transfer of 78rpm recordings made between 1938 and 1940. Side 1 features the complete recordings made by Josef Hassid, including a test recording which was unpublished before this issue. Side 2 features recordings made by a young Ruggiero Ricci: please note that there is an error on the front cover, in that although the Ricci recordings were published by HMV between 1938 and 1940, the recordings themselves were all made in 1938. This LP compilation was issued by EMI in its 'The HMV Treasury' series in 1987, with the catalogue number EH 29 12301.
The works recorded may be seen in photographs one and two.
I have graded the playing surface VG+ because there are small marks at the very beginning of Side 1 which sound on the run-in groove and on just the first part of the first track: otherwise the surfaces are excellent. The sleeve is in near-mint condition. Please see the four photographs accordingly, disregarding any reflections caused by the use of flash.
Please note I have other LPs available for sale on this site: I am always happy to combine orders, thereby saving overall costs of postage, whenever possible.
