Description
For sale an Original US First Press of the Beach Boys' Legendary Pioneering Psychedelic/Surf-Rock Concept Album "Pet Sounds" in MONO, the only format in which its innovator Brian Wilson intended it to be heard. This is a highly collectible copy that comes complete with the original inner sleeve.
The Vinyl is G+ still retaining a good shine, but with lots of scuffing covering both sides consistent with regular removal from the scratchy paper sleeve (now stored outside the cover in a poly-lined inner). Both sides have some scratches as well, but only one that can be felt with a fingernail through the last track on Side 1 (Sloop John B) and the last few seconds of Track 6 which may cause clicking on some setups (not noticeable on mine). Playback has light background noise throughout, but not enough to overpower the music even in quiet parts (listen below)-- just enough to give it that warm vinyl sound everyone loves. Labels are clean (see pics), I do not see any spindle marks.
Sleeve is VG rich colors, solid seams, strong corners, fully legible spine (see pics), front shows surprisingly little contact wear. Edges and rear have yellow spotting and there are a few tiny spots on the bottom and spine that show rubbing (see pics), but there are no splits, no creases, and no writing on the cover. Passable as VG+, but we'll stick with VG for eBay. Original company inner sleeve is crisp and bright with some light wear at the top. Bottom is split halfway at the center, one side split 1", other side is perfect.
