Formed from the ashes of Jim Mankey and Johnette Napolitano's Dream 6 on the fringes of L.A.'s new wave and punk scene, alt-rockers Concrete Blonde quickly signed with IRS Records and found a home on college radio alongside labelmates like R.E.M. Available for the first time on vinyl in the U.S., Concrete Blonde's fifth full-length overall and first for Capitol, Mexican Moon (1993) would serve as the band's last studio effort until 2002's aptly titled Group Therapy. Nevertheless, Napolitano's haunting imagery and Mankey's alt-pop backdrops are as fully realized as ever here.
