Description

If you are looking at this auction you are probably interested in this item and therefore know all about vintage Cook Binaural recordings so I'll save us all some time and get down to brass tacks...

Up for auction we have a super rare old school audiophile Cook Binaural recording released between 1951 and 1954. Its catalog number is "1050". It is "The Pipe Organ Volume 1" played by Michael Cheshire performing various classical pieces on "The Mosque"'s pipe organ in Richmond, VA.

Jacket is a solid VG++ with light shelf wear, more evident on the back than front. Corners and spine are in excellent shape. No seam splits. Not a cut out. The only blemishes are on the back cover towards the center is the number 29 written and circled in black marker about 2.5" inches tall and wide. There is also a small name stamp and V-10 written in blue ink, both in the upper right hand corner of back cover. This is the only non-generic back cover of the four Cook Binaural recordings I have for offer. This back cover actually has liner notes pertaining to the recording. This particular LP came from a deceased audiophile's collection. He took stunningly good care of his records but as he never intended to sell them, would mark the front and/or back covers in marker as he had a peculiar way of categorizing them, using a number system. When I bought the collection it came with these books of how he'd sorted these 2000+ LP's.Very interesting was the original owner.

Record is NM. Play tested. Sounds phenomenal! Next to no superficial surface scratches or scuffs. This record was taken very well care of and has probably only been played a handful of times the past 50 years or so. I do not think the eventual buyer will be disappointed.

Pieces performed:
1. Second Hungarian Rhapsody by Liszt
2. Grand Waltz from Giselle Ballet by Adam
3. Improvisation on a theme from Bells of St. Mary
4. Londonderry Air (Arr. Foort) - Traditional
5. In a Persian Market by Ketelbey
6. Coppelia Waltz by Delibes
7. Zampa Overture by Herold

If you are a collector of audiophile recordings and/or classical in general, DO KEEP CHECKING BACK! as we have just purchased a massive collection that had a fair amount of audiophile classical pressings as well as vintage Living Stereo, Living Presence, London FFSS, and London Phase 4 titles that we will be listing as quickly as time permits!

-Any questions, do ask!

-An overview of how we grade is in the Me section of our profile. While our feedback (which is mostly vinyl sales) shows we are very honest and fair graders, we are not anal retentive with our grading nor do we strictly adhere to Goldmine standards. If you are ultra super conservative, to save all parties trouble, please do not bid because we are tired of guys buying $4 Bruce Springsteen records saying it is not near mint... if you really try you can always find something wrong with a record. We sell solid records and try not to over grade but opinions do differ and we've found our opinion mainly only differs with those that are absolute fanatics about condition who probably shouldn't be buying on ebay in the first place due to the fact that the record is site unseen.

-All vinyl is cleaned and play tested before listed (which is why our store is not filling up quicker). Records are shipped in purpose manufactured vinyl mailers. Each record is shipped in a plastic outer sleeve with the vinyl removed from the jacket to prevent splits in most instances. Any record missing an inner sleeve will be replaced with one. Most packages have extra cardboard inserts or bubble wrap to fill out space within if needed. All of these factors are part of the S/H. If you do not like the S/H price, please refrain from bidding.

-Payment would be appreciated via Pay Pal within 7 days of auction end. If there is a problem with getting the payment out before 7 days, PLEASE send a message! We are understanding, we just need to know if there is going to be a delay. If you don't communicate, we can only assume you are a dead beat bidder and will take due action. So please communicate!!!

-Insurance is optional. If item is damaged in transit and no insurance was purchased, we can not be held responsible and will be unable to refund you. If for some reason you are otherwise unhappy with the item, contact us before leaving feedback and we will refund you the original item price + S/H, however we will not pay for you to ship the item back to us unless the wrong item was sent. All refunds are issued once we have the items back in our possession.

-All items shipped outside the USA are sent via First Class Airmail.
