Cool Gabriels - Conte Candoli Groove LG-1003
Rare 1956 Jazz album with early LP artwork by Andy Warhol. The cover is graded as very good, the original owner an avid vinyl jazz collector used tape down the sleeve opening to protect it when filing records away. The tape has now flaked off the front cover, it has not pulled any of the cover away but there is some residue marks as shown in the photos. There are some light dirt marks where the cover has rubbed against other lp's. These could possibly be cleaned away but I have left the cover in its original condition. There is a tear to the top right edge as seen in the photo. The rear cover has staining to the left side from the tape and there is some writing in biro to the top right hand corner. For a record that is over fifty years old the front cover is in great condition and none of the faults listed seriously detract from the artwork which would look excellent framed on the wall.
I have played the vinyl and it is in excellent condition with only a few minor clicks but otherwise fantastic condition for its age Condition Cover - Very Good Vinyl - Excellent Matrix info G5 JP4533-1S G5 JP4533-1S (both sides have 1S ) Records are graded according to “The Record Collector’” grading system. The standard condition categories and a description of what each one means are as follows
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The records shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken and is only of use as a collection-filler.
