Description

Rock legend Buddy Holly had huge success with "Peggy Sue" in the waning months of 1957, recorded when he was about twenty years old and a little more than a year before his tragic death on February 3, 1959 after his appearance at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa. In "American Premium Record Guide," Les Docks places a value on the 78rpm edition of this record at $50-75. This 78 copy shows graying at the end of the "Peggy Sue" side which may be just the recording technique as the music comes through brilliantly. The flip side is "Everyday." I rate this an E- in condition. For you Buddy Holly fans who want a 78 of his major hit, here it is.
