Description

The self-titled debut LP by Coritha (Socorro Avelino) is a foundational album of Original Pilipino Muisc (OPM) and Pinoy folk rock,  originally released in 1980 by Blackgold Records. The record established her as one of the most prominent female folk singer-songwriters in the Philippines during the late 1970s and 1980s, driven by her evocative acoustic guitar play and themes of environmental and social advocacy. I saw her YouTube episode with Julius Babao and I feel so sorry for her when she got sick. The only person who took care of her was her avid male fan. Gone are the days when she was so famous. I remember her song "Si Lolo Jose".

This is from original pressing and not a re-issue. Just like with old LPs, expect some noise during some plays specially on gap between songs. Please do not expect like new and clean vinyl. Has surface scratches but tested and plays through nicely. I am using Sumiko Amethyst Phone Cartridge for test play. Side A has a small scratch that causes some ticks on the first track (see picture). But it does not create jumps or loop. It does not empower the music. I will grade this Side A as VG because of this otherwise VG+. Very conservative grading. Side B is VG just to be more conservative on my grading. Cover as VG.
