You are bidding on British composer and pianist Cornelius Cardew's album Thalmann Variations, recorded in 1976 and released in 1985 on the British label Matchless Recordings. This album collects some of Cardew's most powerful solo piano compositions, all dedicated to Ernst Thälmann, leader of the German Communist party during the Weimar period. Unlike some of Cardew's other releases(particularly the Scratch Orchestra material), this album is composed and often melodic.
