Record is M- Cover is VG+ (1+1/2 seam split top right and barely noticeable ringwear on top half).
Self Titled LP by Cosmic Debris, released on Non Compos Mentis in 1980. A very clean copy of a rather rare record, recorded in OKC in 1980. Three piece band with Richard Bugg, Shawn Phillips and Joel Young, they describe the music as " a quasi-congruent collection of statements...an intermingling of composed and improvised elements producing perhaps what is best termed the power of emotion merged positively with mind".
Rare first release by this obscure Oklahoma band....it was recorded in Oklahoma City and Positano, Italy. This is probably one of the rarest records in which Shawn Philips had any involvement. This is an original pressing on the Non Compos Mentis (3-7K) label released in 1980, although it sounds like a mid Seventies recording in feel and atmosphere.ACID ARCHIVES Cosmic Debris, Shawn Philips + Richard Buggs + Joel Young. Here is what they had to say about it: "The debut is spacey avant/prog/psych with acid guitar, moog and flute, mid-1970s sound. The followup is not nearly as adventurous. Despite the locale and similarity in name, the band had no connection to Debris." The music is really awesome... an exquisite blend of bleeping analog synthesizers mixed in with some very nice flute work and nice percussion fills. Side one has a side long cut that fuses A. Copland with Billy Cobham's "Spectrum" that is just awesome. Very creative and well done. The recording quality is superb... this could easily pass as an audiophile disc.
