Description
Cosmic Debris
Rare first release by this obscure Oklahoma band....it was recorded in Oklahoma City and Positano, Italy. This is probably one of the rarest records in which Shawn Philips had any involvement.
This is an original pressing on the Non Compos Mentis (3-7K) label released in 1980, although it sounds like a mid Seventies recording in feel and atmosphere.
The thick cardboard cover rates a solid Mint minus with no corner dings or ring wear. It's in outstanding condition.
The disc has a light shallow scuff that extends across the first track on side two that is visible under a strong light suitable for grading records accurately. It's not visible when the record is tilted at just the right angle...and in no way is it audible. A mint minus grade still seems fair...as the lp had never been played until tonight...It was sealed when i bought it. It's in like new condition...so a mint minus grade seems more than fair.
The music is excellent ....an exquisite blend of bleeping analog synthesizers mixed in with some very nice flute work and nice percussion fills. Side one has a side long cut that fuses A. Copland with Billy Cobham's "Spectrum" that is just awesome. Very creative and well done. The recording quality is superb...this could easily pass as an audiophile disc.Sounds fantastic on my Linn Sondek at three in the morning.
