Description
Superb 1960 recording of The Couriers of Jazz with stellar Brit legends Tubby Hayes and Ronnie Scott, plus Terry Shannon (piano), Jeff Clyne (bass) and Bill Eyden (drums). Only original UK 1st press copy on eBay at time of writing - and very few elsewhere. A highly collectable copy.
The heavyweight vinyl has wear and some surface marks and lines, but plays through well – there is some surface noise but this is overpowered by the music the vast majority of the time. There is one feelable mark (pictured) that delivers about 30 seconds of pops. Overall the vinyl grades at least VG+.
The front laminated sleeve has a few minor creases to the front, and a little tear left by a removed price label on the back – this grades VG+ to VG++.
Excellent labels.
Original lined inner sleeve in excellent condition.
Rare and sought after album – a considerable find for jazz collectors who want the original sound rather than often inferior represses on lightweight vinyl.
