Oh my, what a great opportunity to get your self an instant collection of CRASS records and posters that I picked up at an ex-girl friend's yard sale. Look, right off the bat, I need to tell you that you are getting the poster/covers for Penis Envy and The Feeding Of the 5000 BUT NOT THE ACTUAL RECORDS. The records are lost for good. Don't ask about them. I don't have them.
So this is what you do get:
1/2.The poster/covers for the Penis Envy and Feeding Of The 5000 LPs. Most CRASS releases came packaged in big fold out double sided lyric sheets/agitprop posters, good for blocking holes in the walls of your squat/council estate. My ex had these up on the walls of various pads she lived in over the years. These are in rough but complete shape, splitting on the folds, tack holes and 25 year old tape still on them!
3. The Reality Asylum/Shaved Women single from 1979. Shaved Women= "Screaming Babies, Screaming Babies!" you know the one. "Reality Asylum" is a grim monologue spoken over a noisy soundscape. The cover folds out into a 21 by 14 inch poster/lyric sheet, wrinkled, with old tape stuck to the corners.
4. The You're Already Dead single from 1984. This cover folds out into a 14/21 propaganda sheet that's so closely typed it gives me a headache to try to read. The rant continues on an inner sleeve that also has the lyrics and a scurrilous drawing of Ronald Reagan breast feeding Margaret Thatcher. Music is good old CRASS ranting and grinding. The cover is in better shape then the others, because it wasn't hung on a wall.
5. The How Does It Feel single from 1982. This one comes in a very plain sleeve, blank on one side, with lyrics on the other. Music sounds like CRASS.
6. Flux Of Pink Indians Taking A Liberty single from 1985. Bonus record! F.O.P.I. was a CRASS associated band, and yeah, I know Wikipedia says they changed their name to just "Flux" when this record came out, but it says "Flux Of Pink Indians" right on the cover (in tiny letters). This record comes in a booklet with lyrics and a short story/poem, printed in some one's handwriting, accompanied by inscrutable drawings. The music is varied, with some industrial percussion and synths (a little like Tackhead, maybe). But familiar ranted political lyrics.
And that's it! Despite the rough condition of the covers, the records are in excellent (not mint) shape, with some faint lines that are visible but not audible. They could also use a cleaning, but I'll leave that up to you.
In closing, let me remind you that these records belonged to an ACTUAL punk rock girl, not a record collector. She had cats, she smokes (she is a lifelong vegetarian, though, her kisses tasted like smokey carrots). Think of the admiring looks your friends will give you as you point out the "original" yellowing tape and stains! I know my pictures suck, just ask if you need better descriptions of anything or more pictures.
