Description
This one seldom turns up, and when it does it is very often beat up.
Here's a clean copy of the Ted Lewis Band playing "I'm Crazy 'Bout
My Baby" on a gray Ted Lewis pic label Viva-Tonal Columbia 2428-D.
Fats Waller is on piano and does a great vocal refrain, with Muggsy
Spanier, George Brunis, and Benny Goodman all sitting in. Benny
does clarinet solos on this side as well as the following.
The Band plays "Egyptian Ella" on the reverse, with Ted Lewis doing
the vocal refrain.
Both sides were recorded in New York on March 5, 1931.
The record is in clean condition, excellent-minus (E-) on the first side,
and excellent to excellent-minus (E to E-) condition on the second side. It
has a few light scratches, but plays nice, as virtually all Viva-Tonals
do.
It is in the original colorful Ted Lewis caricature sleeve, albeit with
tattered edges.
