Description
Crazy Elephant – Self-Titled (1969) LP | Rare Bell Records Stock-Design Promo | Unique Hand-Corrected Matrix Error | Bell Sound Studio 1/3F Master Cut by Sam Feldman An incredibly scarce piece of late-1960s bubblegum-psych history: an authentic, original 1969 US first-pressing promotional copy of Crazy Elephant’s self-titled album. Orchestrated by legendary bubblegum hitmakers Jerry Kasenetz and Jeffry Katz (Super K Productions), this album features their massive transatlantic smash hit "Gimme Gimme Good Lovin'" alongside brilliant, horn-driven garage rock and heavily stylized psychedelic covers like their mind-bending 7-minute rendition of Otis Redding's "Respect". This specific copy is a documented pre-release industry item sent directly to radio stations. It features Bell Records' highly collected stock-label promo design (printed promotional text over the authentic colored labels) paired with the original round white factory promo sticker on the jacket cover. For audiophiles and variant collectors, this copy carries an elite, documented engineering pedigree. Hand-cut at the premier Bell Sound Studios by mastering icon Sam Feldman, the dead wax features a fascinating mid-production studio error. On Side B, Feldman accidentally etched an "A" into the dead wax, physically scratched it out, and inscribed a "B" over it. Side B also features the 3F stamp, indicating it was pressed from the highly dynamic 3rd master lacquer adjustment run, while Side A features his signature sf hallmark. 🌟 Key Collector Attributes
