Description

An original Mono 1st press of Disraeli Gears on the UK Reaction label. Matrix A1/B1 - very 1st cut from 1967. Please note the labels are the very 1st variation with the Windfall publishing still showing. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original mono fully laminated cover. Please note genuine 1st issue at time of release would have had full lamination and the 'mono' format indicator, on the rear, in the top left corner. Also included is an original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve from the late 60's. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen a moderate level of use. Generally looking in pretty decent condition, but there are a few marks either side - one or two of which are getting feelable [see detail below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of noticeable deviations. These early mono's really do produce audio to die for...Most of the LP plays back to a high standard, but there are a couple of significant deviations caused by the marks mentioned above. 'World of Pain' - is the only track with significant issue. We detect a couple of ticks in the intro and then 12 clicks/pops in the second half of the song [fully tested and guaranteed to play through]. Then just a minor couple of ticks in the outro to Ulysses and Woman Blues. Providing you can live with the aberration in WOP this still represents an impressive rendition and is a great entry route into that sought after mono 1st.
Cover (Vg) Nice and clean front and back with a bit of creasing at the corners. The main issue is a one inch wear-through at the top-middle edge of the cover. And then a two inch split in the centre of the spine. Funnily, much of the album name is still legible and the two inch split is to one side of it. Overall this is still a very decent example of that true 1st issue.
Inner (Ex) Lightest ageing. No splits.
