Description

An original very 1st Mono press of Disraeli Gears on the UK Reaction label from November 1967. Matrix A1/B1. Please note publishing credits are consistent with very 1st press and both labels mention '1967' [and NOT 1966]. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day cover which is fully laminated front AND back. Also, please note that mono is mentioned in the top-left corner on the rear NOT in the top-right in a white box [Important]. All of which can only be found on the very very 1st pressing and would have been available for sale in November 1967.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Do I need to remind anyone that this is the most sought after version of this LP?...Listening to it you can understand why! Beautiful quality audio....great resolution and dynamics it's all there by the bag load! Interference is minimal. All we detected was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. It plays CLEAN..really clean so you can crank it and it will sound amazing with great transparency. Please note - a very slight wobble is just noticeable when listening to side 2. I've measured it at maximum amplitude of 1mm at the outer edge. It is only vaguely noticeable on side 2 - and let me guarantee you that it is totally inaudible...absolutely no trace at all.
Cover (Ex+) Beautiful condition and you'd have to go some to find a better looking copy. Lovely shiny front without any creasing or laminate lift...and that goes for the back as well as the front. It looks beautifully fresh and all colours are still as vivid as the day it was printed. Edge wear is very light. All I can see is a 2 c.m. section of wear right at the top edge in the middle. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. Quite possibly the best specimen I've seen and one that would be nigh on impossible to better.
