As you probably know, PROMOTIONAL RECORDS were ONLY released by record companies to the radio stations and DJs for on-air play or to VIPs in the music industry. They were produced in very small/limited quantities and were NOT made available for sale to the general public; therefore, many promotional records are particularly hard-to-find these days and have become highly sought after by vinyl collectors and fans of certain recording it artists/bands.

It is a truly unique Promo LP. Here’s what’s on the Cream
B-side:
· The side begins with an Announcer (with Don Pardo-type voice) who says: “ATCO Records has just released one of the greatest record packages of all time. It’s called “Wheels of Fire” by Cream. It’s a two-record set, one recorded live at the Fillmore Auditorium and one recorded in the studio. Now, here’s a selection from the live recording. It’s called “Crossroads”.
· The “Crossroads” track plays.
· At the end of the track, the Announcer says: “That was “Crossroads” from Cream’s great new two-record set, “Wheels Of Fire”, recorded at the Fillmore Auditorium. Now, here’s “Train Time”:
· The “Train Time” track plays.
· At the end of the track, the Announcer says: “Train Time” from the Fillmore recording on the fantastic new ATCO two-record set. It’s called “Wheels Of Fire”. Don’t forget that name, by Cream. This unprecedented package is available in this record department.”
· Announcer continues: “ATCO Records has just released one of the greatest record packages of all time. It’s called “Wheels Of Fire” by Cream. Now, this is a two-record set, but a two-record set like you’ve never heard before: one recorded live at the Fillmore auditorium and one recorded in the studio. Now, here’s a selection from the studio recording. It’s called “White Room”.
· The “White Room” track plays.
· At the end of the track, the Announcer says: “White Room” is the name of it from Cream’s fantastic new two-record set, “Wheels Of Fire”, on ATCO Records. Now, let’s listen to “Pressed Rat and Warthog”
· The “Pressed Rat and Warthog” track plays.
· At the end of the track, the Announcer says: “Yeah, that’s the name of it: “Pressed Rat and Warthog” from “Wheels Of Fire”, a two-record set on ATCO Records by Cream. It’s available in this record department.”

You often find Cream White-Label Promo LPs with identical tracks as the commercially released LPs. Those promo LPs were produced primarily for on-air DJ-play. But this “Promotional Record for Record Department In-Store Play” is MUCH LESS COMMON, for sure.
So, how can you pass up this unique announcer-formatted PROMO LP produced for in-store play to promote Cream’s “Wheels Of Fire” LP?
FYI: I use Goldmine Grading Standards (P for Poor, F for Fair, G for Good, VG for Very Good, VG+
for Very Good Plus, NM for Near Mint, M for Mint) to VISUALLY GRADE this record, so please
know the descriptions of these grades before bidding. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding.
