Cream – Wheels Of Fire. 1st UK pressing vinyl LP – Polydor 582 031/2. 1968 Mono
The third album by British rock band Cream, and not just a 1st UK pressing but the first variant of the first pressing.
In my 45 years of record collecting these are the earliest matrix numbers I have ever seen – not even listed on Discogs.
MEGA RARE, especially in this condition !!!

VINYL:
sound: EX+ / M-
Conservative grading, as it is nearer M- than EX+. Test play revealed no skips, sticks or clicks. Deep full clean sound. Clearly been played only a small number of times. Sound quality throughout is free from any traces of distortion.
visual: EX+ / M-
Some very fine hairlines (from removing record from inner poly-lined sleeve) when you look at the record up to a very strong light. Otherwise in beautiful condition. Has been stored and unplayed for decades. Perfectly flat.
LABELS: EX+ / M-
The first known edition of this album on Discogs has one disk with smooth labels and one disk with textured labels. In all subsequent editions all four labels were smooth. In this edition BOTH discs have TEXTURED labels, which again suggests that it pre-dates the first known edition on Discogs.
'Rights Society' box on all labels is empty.

Nice and clean. No writing, marks, tears, stickers or blemishes (see photos). Just a few faint spindle marks.
SLEEVE: EX
Original silver foil gatefold card sleeve, with black print cover.
Full-colour inner spread (internal glue-tabs top & bottom).
Structurally sound. No tears, major creasing or any other significant signs of wear EXCEPT:
Some ringwear on the front and back covers (see photos), and the previous owner’s name and telephone number are written very small in biro in top right hand corner of the back cover, however the ink’s colour has disappeared over the years so only the imprint of the pen remains (see photo).
The spine shows full wording but has a crease through the wording resulting from the gatefold sleeve being opened and closed (see photo).
