Cream, 'Wheels Of Fire'.
Original UK Polydor rough matt red labels double mono LP.
This is the classic 3rd LP by Cream with studio and live tracks performed at the Winterland & Fillmore Theaters in San Francisco in 1968 and their best selling LP. With the earliest matt red grooved labels, the 582031 sleeve catalogue number, with the earliest A-1 B-1 A-1 B-1 matrices and the 1-1-/1- mother stampers of the very first mono presses. The Ernest J. Day Group foil gatefold sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some light edge/corner wear & light storage rubbing/scuffing on the foil outer cover, with some light rubbing on the inner cover. The spine is intact, slightly worn and fully readable, and the plain company inners are in EX condition. The records are in visually in EX condition, sides 1 & 2 have a couple of faint hairlines & one or two light needle marks on the first track of side A and sides 3 & 4 have one or two faint sleeve removal hairlines & a couple of needle marks on side D, visible under bright light on each side. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of light spindle markings on sides 1 & 2 and one or two on sides 3 & 4. The sound reproduction is still EX to EX+, clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief low background noise during the run in grooves, and briefly in a couple of the quieter passages, overall a really great, clear and loud listen which plays really well! The matrix nos. are; 583031, A//1-420 mother stamper 1-1-7, B//1-420 mother stamper 1-1-8, A//1-420 mother stamper 1-, B//1-420 mother stamper 1-1-. This is one of the earliest 1st pressings of the original 1968 UK mono 1st issue of this album!
All records are checked on an Acoustic Research deck before being listed and any flaws noted in the listing, so if you have any problems with the record please contact me for a full refund on return of the record, no problems! All grades are those used in the Record Collector Guide. All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!
