Description
You are HOPEFULLY about to bid on the very first UK pressing of this classic album from 1968, released just 6 months before the Albert Hall Farewell concerts.
This is a 2 album set - sides 1 & 2 in the studio and sides 3 & 4 live from the Fillmore (West, although most of it was actually recorded at Winterland in SA).
This is the original mono recording on heavyweight vinyl, stampers A1 / B1, catalogue nos. 583031/2.
The set numbers are missing from the labels which is not the case for the later pressings.
Condition :
The vinyl is in EX condition with some minor markings but it plays very well. I gather that the early mono pressings are meant to be much clearer and more powerfull than the later pressings.
The labels are in the original Polydor red and just have some minor marking around the spindle holes. They do have the name of the original owner, a good friend of mine, stamped in ink on one side of each record.
The cover is in EX+ condition with some wear on the spine which is still readable and there is slight discolouration from the thick vinyl. The beautiful colours on the inside of the gatefold are still vibrant and very clean. There is some wear around the sleeve openings. The sleeve has 583 031/2 STEREO printed on it which I do not understand as I know for sure that this is the cover the vinyl was bought with in 1968.
The inner sleeves which have polythene bag linings are in reasonable condition and have the PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANFGEROUS text printed on them.
I always send LPs out in custom LP mailers with the vinyl well separated from the covers.
