Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Creedence Clearwater Revival, this deluxe 7LP box set comprises the band's complete studio output (1968 to 1972): Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bayou Country, Green River, Willy and the Poor Boys, Cosmo's Factory, Pendulum and Mardi Gras. Each album has been mastered at half-speed at Abbey Road Studios, benefiting from an exacting process that allows for an exceptional level of sonic clarity and punch, bringing these classic recordings a new vibrancy. The 180g LPs come housed in handsome tip-on jackets replicating the packaging of the original pressings. Along with the complete studio album collection comes an 80-page book featuring new liner notes from music journalist Roy Trakin, archival photos and reproductions of band ephemera – offering something for both new and the most diehard of Creedence fans.

The half-speed mastering process uses high-resolution transfers from the original analog tapes and involves playing back the original audio at half its recorded speed, while the cutting lathe is turned at half the desired playback speed. This technique allows more time to cut a micro-precise groove, allowing more accuracy with frequency extremes and dynamic contrasts. "I've tried to be as authentic as I could, and just make it sound like music," says Abbey Road Studios' award-winning engineer Miles Showell, who oversaw the process. "Not over-hyped, not over-processed. Up until now a lot of processing has been done on these recordings, so my approach was to strip them right back and just expose them for what they are – because what they are is great music."

Though the 1968 release of Creedence Clearwater Revival's landmark debut paralleled the flowering of the San Francisco music scene, the band had little in common with the "San Francisco Sound." On the contrary, the LP contained rock standards such as Dale Hawkins' "Susie Q" and Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You," (both of which became immediate hits) as well as original material by John Fogerty, who was to emerge as one of rock's most influential singer/songwriters. 1969 was an epic year in the too-short history of CCR. In that year alone, the band released three Top 10 albums (Bayou Country, Green River and Willy and the Poor Boys), scoring four hit singles and three charting B-sides.

Coming off that massive momentum, 1970 proved to be just as productive - if not more - for the band. Masterwork Cosmo's Factory, came out that July, and included the hits "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Lookin' Out My Back Door" and an 11-minute rendition of Marvin Gaye's hit "I Heard It Through the Grapevine." By the time of Pendulum's release later that year, CCR was the top-selling rock band in the world, coming off seven consecutive Top 10 hits. In 1971, Tom Fogerty left the band to pursue a solo career, while the remaining members went on to record Mardi Gras, their final studio effort, released in 1972. Though the band members went their separate ways so early into their careers, CCR's 1968-1972 output remains unmatched and as popular as ever.

The US sales alone of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees stand at more than 30 million, including 14 top ten hit singles, six platinum-certified albums (two of which reached No. 1 in the US) and one gold album.
