Cro-Mags - The Age of Quarrel 1st Pressing (No Censored Stamp) Profile 1986 NYHC . Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
The first US pressing of this record has beige center labels and the old Profile Records logo. Some of those copies have a black "censored" stamp printed on the dust sleeve and some have none. Later pressings have black labels, the new Profile logo and a white "censored" stamp on the dust sleeve.
This is a 1st Pressing copy WITHOUT the censored stamp on the inner sleeve.
The record has seen quite a bit of play and has the battle scars to prove it. There are a significant number of scratches on either side. I think it's safe to say that most of them appear to be light scratches and smudges. There are, however, one or two that could potentially be more significant. Still not likely anything bad enough to cause a skip or disturb the listener much, but there is likely a bit of surface noise between songs and perhaps a few audible pops and clicks here and there. I'm gonna rate it G+++ because it looks a bit scuffed but it could sound closer to VG, I just have no way to play test it.
The inner sleeve has a couple very tiny rips at the opening edge. There are only 1 centimeter or so long. There are a couple veins near that edge as well and overall Moderate/Light signs of handling. All 3 closed edges have seam splits. The right edge split is only 4 inches, but the left is closer to 6 inches, and the bottom edge is split for almost the entire length of that edge. Because of that I can only rate the insert as G, but it still looks really good if you can ignore the seam splits.
The cover also has a fairly significant amount of wear and tear. There is Moderate level ring wear on front and back perhaps leaning slightly towards Severe rank. There are also some significant veins / creases. It can all be seen clearly in the pictures provided. The corners also have Moderate wear The spine edge has Severe wear and parts of the title text are worn away. There is a 4 inch section, right on where the album title was, that is so worn down that it has left a gaping hole in that edge. (see pictures) The bottom (shelf) edge also has severe wear but hasn't worn all the way through, like the Spine Edge has. Overall, it's got a good amount of wear and tear but in a way that seems to give it some character, because it still looks decent from front and back. Because of the gaping hole in the spine though, I can't rate it higher than G+
Grades that I use are G-, G, G+, G++, G+++, VG, VG+, VG++, VG+++/EX, NM. I won't be describing anything as M or MINT unless it is unopened and the packaging is completely unblemished. Records that have never been played but HAVE been opened, will be described as Near Mint or NM. These are the adjectives that I use when describing damage: Very Light, Light, Moderate, Severe, Catastrophic. To describe damage in between those ranks I say things like: "Moderate leaning towards Severe," "Moderate leaning towards light," or "In between Light and Moderate"...just for example.
