Crosby Stills Nash & Young "Deja Vu"

This is an original US vinyl pressing on Atlantic 7200  from 1970.     This is a stereo while label promo copy of their second album.     This promo was only issued in very limited numbers and only when this record first came out.   This album went on to sell millions of copies and it stayed in print for 30 years.     The white label promo would be the rarest way to find this album.

It's one of the best albums in the history of Rock N Roll.    Every song is good.    You can play it from beginning to end and listen to over and over.     You can still hear songs from it on the radio today, like : Carry On, Teach Your Children, Almost Cut My Hair, Helpless, Woodstock, Deja Vu, Our House, and 4 + 20).

David Crosby came from The Byrds, Graham Nash came from The Hollies, and Stephen Stills and Neil Young came from The Buffalo Springfield.    They included Dallas Taylor and Greg Reeves in this album   Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead plays steel guitar on 'Teach Your Children'.     John Sebastion from The Lovin' Spoonful plays harp on 'Deja Vu'.   

It was produced by all of them.   It was engineered by Bill Halverson.  Direction is by Elliot Roberts.    Agent & friend is David Geffen.  Cover photography is by Tom Gundlefinger.  Inside photos are by Henry Diltz.    Wow.  

There are many variations on this cover.      This is in the original heavily textured gatefold cover.    It looks like black leather and you can feel it and you can see.     The brown and white front cover photo is glued in place.     The front cover lettering is raised and gold.   ( there are no chips missing from the gold lettering )    The record number is 7200. 

Overall Condition is : Cover is VG+ /  Record is M-

The gatefold  cover is VG+ with no ring wear and no seam splits.   There is a promo sticker on the front cover.     There is some corner wear at top left and bottom right.    There is a small name on the inside gatefold.    It looks like there was a sticker removed on the back cover and there is minor damage.    The vinyl looks near mint and it plays near mint.    They are some light handling marks on side two.    The vinyl is thick and non-flexible.    The labels are clean with light spindle marks.  The record comes in a plain white inner sleeve. 

The songs are : Carry On, Teach Your Children, Almost Cut My Hair, Helpless, Woodstock, Deja Vu, Our House, 4 + 20, Country Girl, and Everybody I Love You.

I started collecting records in 1966.     I started selling in Goldmine in 1985.      I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby.       And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon.     My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.  

Packaging :

I take great care on every package and I do each one personally.     I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard.     Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard.       Together they are very strong and unbendable.   ( Even the postmen comment on how strong this cardboard is ! )       I always remove the record from the cover and seal them in a clear plastic album sleeve.     The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides. 

Postage :  Weight : 1 pound 14 ounces

You have to pay for the postage.     I pre-weigh every record, so that you pay the exact amount the post office charges.   There are no handling charges.     This record will weigh 30 ounces ( 1 pound, 14 ounces ) when ready to ship.   US bidders can figure out your own postage costs for US Priority or Media Mail.    All US winners will get shipping through Paypal and an email with the tracking number.      Overseas bidders must use First Class Mail International.   I will let you know the date I mailed your record and the US customs number.   ( Buyers from Italy must assume all risks for shipping to their country. )      I will send your record as soon as you pay ( same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM : Monday thru Saturday)   I will combine shipping if you win more than one record.      Please wait for me to send you an invoice for all of your records in one package.
