Description
I purchased this album sold as 'new' however it was not actually sealed which I'm imagining is related to this being a promo. The shrink bag the album came in is without question from Classic Records (if you've never felt one, they feel a certain way and if you have you know what I'm taking about) however the top seal sticker was never in place. The paper cover itself is plain white with three stickers from Classic Records; 1) The 200 G Quiex SV-P on the bottom left, 2) The Suggested Listening on the bottom left (which is perhaps the coolest promo sticker I've ever seen) on the bottom right, and 3) The Compliments Classic Records sticker on the top right. The cover itself shows only nominal wear in the corners and numerically I am scoring the cover a 99. When the album arrived here there were some marks on the vinyl, which needed a light cleaning, and without question I had to play the album which I did through my headphones and I can say with near complete certainty that this album was never played before I dropped the needle. This having been said there are some visible issues with the vinyl that warrant mentioning. On Side A at around the 12 position there is mark which runs 4mm. There are also a couple of faint lines visible upon a more close inspection. I think these marks were caused during transit from the album moving around a bit in the packaging (which was super secure but both the sleeve and jacket open from the top. When I send this out I will secure the vinyl taped within the Mofi sleeve it is sitting in now to confirm no additional movement). On Side B there is a mark on Track 1 which runs .05mm however I did not hear this at all through headphones (and as a matter of full disclosure I thought I would). There are also a couple of other faint lines however nothing of any significance. This all having been said, numerically I am scoring the vinyl itself a 92 (although I am rating the sound a 99, this album sounds so good on this 200 grams) which I feel is a solid A-.
