Description

Hi and Welcome!

From my personal collection of 500+ Vinyl Lp's, all of  which I am selling, I have here for sale a very rare original copy of Culture - Culture Dub from 1978.  I have had this from new and it has only been played somewhere between 10 and 15 times and on a good quality turntable, arm, cartridge and stylus.  It has been well cared for so is pretty much in the same condition as it was in when purchased.

Being produced and pressed by a small label in Jamaica and imported, the record and cover is, to no great surprise, a little 'rougher round the edges' than one would expect from a major record company. Personally, I find this adds to its appeal - the roughly-printed record labels, the 'not-so-shiny' vinyl and the thinner-than-usual record cover, complete with the 'MADE IN JAMAICA' sticker. The album has been re-released, on coloured vinyl etc. but this is a first edition copy in all its glory.

"Jamaican roots reggae group Culture were founded in 1976. The trio was led by Joseph Hill and also featured Kenneth Dayes and Albert Walker. Their debut album Two Sevens Clash became an instant reggae classic. In 1978 Culture joined forces with Jamaica's first female producer Sonia Pottinger. Their cooperation resulted in three magnificent albums, the first of which; Harder Than The Rest , was transformed by the legendary Errol Brown into Culture Dub. This sought-after disc was originally released on HighNote Records and contains some of the coolest & heaviest dubs around."

Visually, the vinyl is in excellent condition. There are some marks and some tiny 'dimples but all introduced during the pressing. There are no scratches Etc. that have been introduced by myself. From day one, the album has had its crackles and a couple of clicks, I just accepted these as a given. They are almost all low level and practically hidden by the great dynamics of a first pressing- It is a fact that vinyl releases have a greater dynamic range than cd, super audio cd, dvd-audio or downloads. The best sounding vinyl will be the first generation copies, such as the one for sale here.

The condition of the cover is Excellent but there IS some slight wear, including light ring wear to front and back cover and very slight creasing in a couple of places.

I know the new owner will get great enjoyment from this album, I have throughly enjoyed digging this album out, listening to it and having a bop around while doing so!

The album will be despatched with the vinyl in an archival quality anti-static, anti-dust/dirt, anti-scratch inner sleeve,  the album cover inside a polythene outer sleeve, all inside a double walled cardboard mailer.

UK deliveries only. Sorry, I will not be mailing to addresses outside of the UK.
