Description
This is Blue Note Records BLP 1567, Curtis Fuller The Opener, a blue and white, 47 West 63rd NYC, deep groove labeled, original mono issue with the ear (p) mark and RVG stamped in the dead wax. This session features Hank Mobley, Bobby Timmons, Paul Chambers and Art Taylor. The record is is VG condition with many scratches on both sides. It plays with background noise evident especially on the 1st track, but there are no skips and no distortion of the music. The laminated cover with the New York 23 address and blank spine shows extensive wear and water damage. I have included a photo of the back as well. The labels (with no inc.and no R) show spindle marks, but are intact. The record has been cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn SondekLP12. This would make a wonderful initial "play" copy of this extremely rare and expensive original Blue Note. This is part of a large jazz collection I will be posting over the next few months.
