Curtis Mayfield – Curtis / Live!

Custom / Curtom Records CRS-8008 – Factory Sealed 2‑LP Set

Offered for sale is a factory‑sealed original 2‑record set of Curtis / Live! by Curtis Mayfield, released on Custom / Curtom Records, catalog CRS‑8008. This highly regarded live album remains sealed and unplayed, preserving one of the most important soul and funk live recordings of the early 1970s.

History of the Release

Curtis / Live! was released in 1971 and documents Curtis Mayfield in concert at The Bitter End in New York City. The album captures Mayfield during a pivotal period of his career, shortly after leaving The Impressions and establishing himself as a powerful solo artist.

Widely regarded as one of the finest live soul albums of its era, the record showcases Mayfield’s socially conscious lyrics, distinctive falsetto, and deep funk arrangements. The performances include extended versions of his most influential material, blending gospel, funk, rhythm & blues, and spoken interludes. Original sealed copies of this double‑LP set are increasingly scarce.
