Grade (Sleeve/Disk):  VG/VG+

Grade detail: Disc is in nice clean condition with a few visible hairlines. Sleeve is original BBC Transcription Services version and is also in good clean condition with just a little reference writing and a small corner crease. Cue sheets are lovely clean and crisp.

The Battle of Godfrey's Cottage

An episode in the British comedy series Dad's Army. It was originally transmitted on Saturday 8 March 1969.

The church bells are to be removed to provide metal for the war effort, so the vicar has one last ring before they are removed. After the church bells ring (which is the signal indicating the start of a German invasion), Mainwaring, Wilson, Jones, Frazer, Pike and Walker all go to Godfrey's cottage and start fighting the "Germans."

The Armoured Might of Lance Corporal Jones

The first episode of the third series of the British comedy series Dad's Army. It was originally transmitted on Thursday 11 September 1969. It is also the first episode to be broadcast in colour.

Lance Corporal Jones allows the platoon to use his butcher's van as an armoured car and Mainwaring meets the new Chief ARP Warden, William Hodges the greengrocer.

BBC Transcription Services discs were only made available to overseas radio stations for broadcast purposes and were not made available for sale to the general public. However, in the early 90s many international BBC libraries sold their stock to the public.  

Typically BBC Transcription Services pressed 100 copies of each disc only with instructions to the overseas radio network to destroy the disc at the end of the licence period.

Excellent (Ex) - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good + (VG+) - The record has obviously been played but has only a few light surface marks. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Very Good (VG) - The record has obviously been played many times and has some visible surface marks. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G) – The record has visible mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Postage is standard UK 2nd class small parcel at a cost of £3.50. Additional records are only charged at £1.00 extra for each ordered. All our vinyl records are posted in Lil packaging stiff 12″ LP record mailer....a seriously strong, secure & professional package. Records are removed from their cover before posting to avoid seam splits to the outer sleeve.
