DAFOS RR-12 – MICKEY HART / AIRTO / FLORA PURIM

Dafos, recorded 1983 in San Francisco features Mickey Hart, Airto Moreia and Flora Purim with other artists in an album celebrating percussion music. The instruments involved included "The Beast," familiar to many from The Grateful Dead concerts, together with authentic Brazilian, African and Indonesian instruments, woodwinds and electric bass guitar. Photographs of named performers, with their instruments, fill the two inside pages of the gatefold sleeve. LP record issued in USA by Reference Recordings Ltd., No. RR-12.

Tracks are (side 1): Dry Sands of the Desert, Sandacao Popular, Ice of the North, Reunion;

(side2): Subterranean Caves of Kronos, The Gates of Dafos, Passage.

The disc has an unplayed appearance. The thick card gatefold sleeve is really excellent with minimal wear on spine.
