ONE OF A KIND - TEST SAMPLE - NO OTHER EXAMPLE EXISTS!
History: The band was considering colored vinyl, as well as gold and silver foil labels. This is a single one-off VISUAL ONLY test example for the band and Columbia Records to examine. Black vinyl was selected vs clear blue, and this example was returned.
The issue: Foil labels didn't exist because typically labels are compressed into the vinyl during pressing, and the heat would simply trash the foil. Using a metallic PMS ink also did not work, as the color variance was all over the place and simply did not "pop". The solution was to press the vinyl and apply the labels during the assembly process BY HAND.
There is NO audio on this vinyl disc. Why? It was solely for the purpose of testing visual aesthetics and packaging. The master tests had not even been pressed yet in Europe.
