UK 1st press with earliest stampers and fully laminated sleeve.- Grading

- Sleeve:VG+ (there is a small bit of laminate & print loss on the front cover….(top the right of the bands name) which looks as though was caused by a sticker……..there is slight laminate separation and a couple of light laminate creases on the front spine edge and a horizontal laminate crease on the rear right side ………see pics)
Dando Shaft were a short-lived psych/progressive folk and folk jazz band that was primarily active in the early 1970s. The band has attracted a measure of attention from recent compilation releases and Dando Shaft is today known primarily as one of the major influences on the progressive stream of the 1960s folk revival.
Forming in Coventry, England, in 1968, the original Dando Shaft was an all-male quintet composed of the two guitar/vocalists Kevin Dempsey and Dave Cooper, multi-instrumentalist Martin Jenkins, bassist Roger Bullen, and tabla/percussionist Ted Kay. The band’s name was taken from that of the title character of a 1965 novel by Don Calhoun.
Performing in local English venues for the next two years while remaining active in the folk revival scene, the band was offered a recording deal with Young Blood Records and in 1970 they recorded their debut, “An Evening With Dando Shaft". The album was well-received, drawing immediate comparison to the work of fellow folk revival musicians Pentangle, but demonstrating more of an emphasis on original folk compositions as well as showcasing a more progressive use of bluegrassy multi-instrumentation (especially due to Martin Jenkins's diverse talents) and Balkan (particularly Bulgarian) rhythmic structures.
The grading standard used is the UK Record Collector magazine gradings as described below
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.??
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.??
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
All items are securely packaged and sent via a trackable method.

Return Policy Returns are accepted in the unlikely event that the item purchased does not match the grading given and it is returned in the condition sent and in packaging comparable to that which it was originally sent in.
