GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : due buone tracce jazzistiche e due brani d'atmosfera. L'extended play inizia con "Mars Club", un locale notturno dove l'orchestra suona il jazz. Per quanto le sonorità siano forse un pò convenzionali, il brano si fa apprezzare per il suo ritmo vivace, l'ottimo pianoforte, le brevi improvvisazioni del vibrafono e la sezione fiati. "Dans les Bras d'un Ange" contiene un'atmosfera romantica sottolineata da pianoforte e orchestra. Si ritorna al jazz con "Sursis pour un Vivant". La prima parte ha un andamento rapido sostenuto da basso, batteria con coinvolgimento di pianoforte e vibrafono poi il ritmo rallenta sulle note del piano che ancora successivamente accompagna in sottofondo un buon assolo di tromba. "Sérénité" è un tema dove nostalgia, malinconia ma pure tenerezza sentimentale sono riflesse nella musica dell'orchestra.

Notes : two excellent jazzy tunes and two pretty atmospheric tracks. The extended-play begins with "Mars Club", a nightclub where the orchestra plays jazz. Even though its sonorities are perhaps a little conventional, the music can be appreciated for the lively rhythm, excellent piano, short improvisations of vibraphone and the brass section. "Dans les Bras d'un Ange" includes a romantic theme for piano and orchestra. We return to jazz with "Sursis pour un Vivant". The first part has a fast development backed by bass, drums and with involvement of piano and vibraphone then the rhythm slows on the notes of the piano which subsequently accompanies in the background a nice trumpet solo. "Sérénité" is a track where nostalgia, melancholy but also sentimental tenderness are reflected into the music of the orchestra.
