45 giri.  THE FIVE PENNIES composta da Sylvia Fine e cantata da Danny Kaye nel film omonimo venne nominata insieme ad altre quattro come migliore canzone originale per il Premio Oscar 1960. Questo raro disco pubblicato esclusivamente per i membri della giuria contiene le versioni in Inglese, Francese, Tedesco e Italiano, ognuna di circa 1'20". Insieme al disco c’è un biglietto di Louis Armstrong, vedi, per cortesia, la scansione n° 4, con le congratulazioni a Danny Kaye per le sue interpretazioni ricordandogli che la canzone è all'altezza per il Premio Oscar. In realtà la canzone vincitrice fu "High Hopes" di Jimmy Van Heusen inserita nel film "Un uomo da vendere" e cantata da Frank Sinatra  /  THE FIVE PENNIES composed by Sylvia Fine and sung by Danny Kaye in the homonymous film was nominated for best original song along with four others for the Academy Award 1960. This rare record released exclusively for the Academy members includes the versions in English, French, German and Italian, each of about 1'20 ". GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.
