DAPHNE ORAM • ELECTRONIC SOUND PATTERNS • BBC RADIOPHONIC WORKSHOP
1962 HMV 7-inch EP (catalogue no. 7EG 8762) of early electronic experiments by Daphne Oram, the influential co-founder of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. A great electronic sound and a ‘must have’ for any electronics collector. It consists of rhythmic sequences of pure tone and noise blasts intended as a tool for dance educators. By using numerous tape recorders, filters, modulators and other electronic devices, instrumental tone colours and note pitches are presented in different rhythmic sequences. It has never been re-issued.
The disc is has no visible marks or spindle marks and has possibly never been played. The sleeve is near mint.
