GREAT LP MEDIA AND COVER IN VG+ CONDITION

ARTIST : DASHIELL HEDAYAT - David Allen / Gong / TITLE : OBSOLETE

Classic, fantastic early 70's LP, in which David Allen, Gong and Caravan members accompany the trippy, naive, sweet and sour texts of Dashiell Hedayat (A.K.A Melmoth, A.K.A Jack-Alain Léger) .
Influenced by Syd Barrett solo escapades, this LP maybe the best Beat french album ever, long progressive psych cosmic tracks in the vein of Gong with saturated guitars, loud bass, dreamy flutes, light and dark moments ( "Chrysler" and "Cielo drive" ) and a great "tender hippie" :) track that remind Gainsbourg's "MELODY NELSON" to me, "the long song for Zelda".
Really a fantastic LP ... it's rare that music and words go so well together, especially at this period, where texts were sometimes laughable. .... Well, not on this one ...
i have a lot of affection for this record, sometimes freaky, sometimes tender, constantly crazy ...
